One of the songs that always got me was the song that talked about “I’m desperate for you”…while it is a beautiful song…and I appreciate the hearts of the writers, the song is not Biblical…How can we be desperate for someone who is with us all the time…It’s almost like me saying that I am desperate for my shadow, or for any other part of my body…As long as I have it with me at all times, there ought to be no desperation. Yes! we should desire to be more sensitive…but there should be no desperation…
It’s not about getting a bigger car, or a bigger house, or a bigger church, or getting more people to attend your church, but it is about dying to self. Literal and figurative death!

Sometimes I read the old testament and I feel sad, I hear God begging us, pleading with us, asking us to realize how [Love God] much he loves us…but we think he is being controlling and mean…but when I started to see how much He loved me…I fell head over heels in love…the kind of love that never fades…because I am teaching myself to love him daily.
What made me fall in love with Him? I began to realize why he died for me…
The story is well told, and very encouraging. Reading stories like these remind me that I really have nothing to complain about. Ms. Bannister does not focus on just the hardships (though there are many), but instead she focuses on the good times, the enjoyable times, the times spent celebrating family and celebrating Jesus. Reminding us of how harmful it is when we forget the importance of our freedoms…
